JPEPA: POISON TO FILIPINOS
Side Agreement Not Enough To Cure Many Ills of Treaty
Magkaisa Junk JPEPA Coalition Press Release

JPEPA: Poison to Filipinos. At the eve of the 2nd year anniversary of the signing of JPEPA activists from the multi-sectoral group Magkaisa Junk JPEPA Coalition (MJJC) trooped to the Japanese embassy today to protest against the controversial treaty. Donning masks of Pres. Arroyo and Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Mar Roxas, three activists stood behind an ominous black cauldron marked JPEPA, slowly stirring the contents of the cauldron and poison into the mix. The activists maintain that ratifying the JPEPA in spite of the latest side agreement fixing the Constitution will still be lethal to majority of Filipinos. (Image © Gigie Cruz/GAIA)
